Description
The course fully prepares the student to reason clearly and efficiently when faced with problems of a quantitative nature. The student will be introduced to fundamental problem-solving techniques involving algebraic equations, statistics, probability, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, and many topics concerning mathematical modeling. This course will prepare students to solve many exciting “real world” problems and stresses the beauty and personal empowerment that mathematical problem-solving skills can bring to our lives. Quantitative Reasoning is an alternative to MAT103 College Algebra. As listed in the catalog: This course explores data and the algebraic models that may fit data. Linear, quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic functions emphasized. Building skills in number sense, problem solving, and mathematical strategies are also a
